Sick days and a Toddler

Matthew was born two years ago. I thought by now that I had pretty much overcome my newbie mommy stage. Until this past weekend. Matthew woke up around 2 am on Sunday morning....well I say wake up, but what I should say is uncontrollable crying. We went in to comfort him and he was still asleep. It took us a few minutes to actually wake the little guy up. We calmed him down and put him back to bed. A couple hours later, he woke up again.......this time with a 103 fever!!!

Believe me when I say this- He has NEVER had a fever before in his life! Joshua and I had no idea what to do! We were about to take him to the ER, but in God's timing my mother (who has not been able to stay with us for almost a year) happened to be spending the night. She calmly explained to us what we needed to do.

Facebook friends helped with ideas as well. Matthew's fever broke that next evening....again, God is so good! Matthew is doing great and has a ton of energy.

Now mommy is not feeling well. I don't have a raised temp, but I am feeling under the weather. Joshua is able to help a little, but since he works overnights, he needs his sleep. So, it is Matthew and myself.

We have watched more tv in these last two days then we have ever watched. I am thankful Matthew is not interested in tv and it is keeping him occupied.

It would be nice if Matthew remembered the care we gave him when he had his fever and reciprocated that love to Mommy now......but I know, I am talking about a two year old. :)

My Very First Post........

.......so I am entering this very new but interesting world called "BLOGGING". I have no idea where this journey will take me but I think this might be a successful adventure for two reasons:

#1 I enjoy writing, especially creative writing

#2 I am incredibly opinionated and this is the perfect avenue to share whatever I want to without being censored (well that is until our dear president decides the blogging world needs a bailout and new set of rules)

A few things you should know about me:

#1 I cannot spell. I will try extremely hard to remember to spell check everything, but please try to bear with me.

#2 I am usually working with a little one crawling all over me, so if I seem to be writing an interesting topic, and all of a sudden, you are wondering where I am going with this, I prob. had to take a break to deal with Chewy or dinner or laundry. Anyway, I might get off my topic.

#3 I am a Born again Christian. I have been washed and redeemed by my Lord's blood and this life I am now living, I am living through faith in Jesus Christ (Gal 2. 20). I want to share my journey as a child of God, a woman striving to live the Prov. 31 principles, a mommy trying to raise her child in the Grace and Knowledge of Christ. However, I am a very real, sin struggling female and will more than likely say things that are not glorifying to the Creator. This will all be a part of my life and blog.

So for now, thank you for taking the time to visit this page and participating in this journey with me!
