Sick days and a Toddler

Matthew was born two years ago. I thought by now that I had pretty much overcome my newbie mommy stage. Until this past weekend. Matthew woke up around 2 am on Sunday morning....well I say wake up, but what I should say is uncontrollable crying. We went in to comfort him and he was still asleep. It took us a few minutes to actually wake the little guy up. We calmed him down and put him back to bed. A couple hours later, he woke up again.......this time with a 103 fever!!!

Believe me when I say this- He has NEVER had a fever before in his life! Joshua and I had no idea what to do! We were about to take him to the ER, but in God's timing my mother (who has not been able to stay with us for almost a year) happened to be spending the night. She calmly explained to us what we needed to do.

Facebook friends helped with ideas as well. Matthew's fever broke that next evening....again, God is so good! Matthew is doing great and has a ton of energy.

Now mommy is not feeling well. I don't have a raised temp, but I am feeling under the weather. Joshua is able to help a little, but since he works overnights, he needs his sleep. So, it is Matthew and myself.

We have watched more tv in these last two days then we have ever watched. I am thankful Matthew is not interested in tv and it is keeping him occupied.

It would be nice if Matthew remembered the care we gave him when he had his fever and reciprocated that love to Mommy now......but I know, I am talking about a two year old. :)
